Puri is also known as Jagannath Puri, derived this name from the 11th century Jagannath Temple in the city. Puri is renowned world over for the Jagannath temple, which is also one of the four Dhams of India. It is one of the most significant sacred shrines for Hindus in India, dedicated to Lord Krishna. The temple is located at a distance of 60 km from Bhubaneswar, on the coast of Bay of Bengal, and is greatly revered by the devotees following the Vaishnava traditions. Every Hindu is expected to do the Four Dham Yatra or Pilgrimage once in a life time. Rests of the three Dhams are namely Badrinath in Uttarakhand, Dwaraka in Gujarat and Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu.
The temple was built by Raja Anantavarman Chodagana Deva in 11th Century. However, credit for laying the foundation for newly shaped temple goes to the Oriya ruler, Ananga Bhima Deva in 1174 CE. The Lord Krishana is worshiped here by devotees as a trinity with his two siblings, the Lord Balabhadra (brother), Goddess Subhadra (Sister) and the Lord Jagannath in the center.
An idol of Lord Jagannath is made of wood comes from a sacred trees. The idol is replaced in every twelve years. Devotees are flocked from all over the world at Puri in large numbers during the famous Rath Yatra or the Chariot festival, the most significant annual festival of Puri. It illustrates the grand procession of decorated chariots for holy trinity of Gods.

11:00 Hrs : After the visit of Jagannath Temple, drive towards Konark to see famous Sun Temple. It is 35 km from Puri takes about 45 minute to one hour to reach. Konark lies on the coast by the Bay of Bengal.
12:00 Hrs: Arrives Konark. Upon arrival in Konark, Go to see Sun Temple Konark.
Sun Temple, Konark:
It is one of the most significant temples of Odisha, lies on the coast by the Bay of Bengal. Sun temple was built in 13th century during the reign of Narasimhadeva I. It is also known as Black Pagoda, built in black granite. It is a UNESCO world heritage site. The ruins of the temple and its sculptures are placed for display inside the Sun temple Museum, which is closed on Friday. Temple is dedicated to Sun God and designed as colossal chariot of Sun God with twelve pairs of embellished stone carved wheels pulled by seven horses. Only six horses are still stand today out of seven dragging the chariot. The imposing structure with the pyramidal roof that now takes center stage is actually the porch(Jagamohana).

14:00 Hrs : After finishing the
sightseeing of Sun Temple Konark. Drive back to Bhubaneswar via visiting Dhauli Hills Buddhist pilgrimage site. Bhubaneswar is 65 km from Konark.
15:00 Hrs : Arrives Dhauli. Dhauli is a Buddhist pilgrimage site, located at a distance of just 8 km from the capital Bhubaneswar on the banks of river Dhauli.
The main attractions of Dhauli hills are the Shanti Stupa, a place to feel eternal peace of mind and the edicts of Ashoka also found here, engraved on the rock. A Hindu temple on the hill dedicated to Lord Shiva is also visited by the tourists.
17:00 Hrs: Drive back to the Bhubaneswar.
17:30 Hrs: Arrives Bhubaneswar. Upon arrival, drop at your hotel.
